DeMatha Lands 17 Players On All-WCAC Teams

DeMatha has a long history of great players, and with the 2014 team playing this Saturday in the Washington Area Catholic Conference Championship, this year’s Stags team is no different. The WCAC recently announced players that made all-conference, and DeMatha landed 17 players on the various teams.

Week 6 Players of the Week: DeMatha 37, O’Connell 31

After all DeMatha wins, head coach Elijah Brooks selects the players that stood out. After the big 37-31 victory over O’Connell, Brooks had a tough time slimming down his list.

SUN_0090-2014btnDefense – Shane Simmons – 4 sacks, 8 tackles. Brooks: “Shane did an outstanding job getting to the quarterback all day Saturday.”

 

 

 


SUN_0024-2014Defense – Tino Ellis – 6 tackles, 3 passes defensed. 
Brooks: “Tino did an excellent job making some tough catches Saturday but on defense he really stood out with a few punishing hits.”

 

 

 

SUN_0012-2014Offense – Lorenzo Harrison – 22 carries, 130 yards, 1 rec. 45 yards, 2 TDs. Brooks: “Lo continues to be our workhorse and making those big time runs when we need them.”

Brooks: “Kellon did a great job catching the ball all day but he got us on the board first with a leaping touchdown catch over two defenders.”
