Week 5 Players of the Week: DeMatha 21, St. Johns 14 (OT)

What an exciting win! The Stags gave their best effort of the season to ensure their biggest win of 2014, and DeMatha head coach Elijah Brooks picked the players that meant the most in the overtime win against WCAC foe St. Johns. Check ’em out!

Julius Combes

Defense: LB Shane Simmons – 7 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack. DL Julius Combes – 6 tackles 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack. “Shane and Julius led the way on defense helping to hold St. John’s College to one offensive touchdown and under 100 yards of total offense.”





Darryl Turner Jr. 


Beau     English

Offense: WR Darryl Turner Jr. – 6 catches for 78 yards and 2 TDs. QB Beau English – 10 of16 for 165 yards and 3 TDs – “Beau and DJ seemed to connect well Friday night. Beau made some great throws under pressure and I can’t say enough about DJ’s effort on the game winning touchdown in OT.”
