Week 8 Recap: DeMatha romps in Homecoming Blowout

That’s how you celebrate homecoming!! DeMatha simply overpowered the McNamara Mustangs, running to a 61-27 win. The victory brings the Stags record to 7-1 and an undefeated 4-0 record in the Washington Area Catholic Conference.

DeMatha Head Coach Elijah Brooks was proud of his team after the win.

This was another big win for us in the league. Our guys had added motivation that it was homecoming and we wanted to come out and play well. They did that.

Screen shot 2013-10-14 at 4.43.31 PMThe Stags came into this game without starting quarterback John Lovett, who missed the game with a concussion. It didn’t matter as the Stags running attack dominated the Mustangs.

More to come this week as Coach Brooks announces his Players of the Week, but first we want to announce our first prize winner from the Athletic Open House held at DeMatha.

Congratulations to Anthony Toro, a tight end and linebacker from Crofton, for winning our first prize. Please email dmfootballsite@gmail.com to claim your prize!!

And don’t forget, it’s Gonzaga Week! Expect a lot of coverage this week as the Stags take on the Purple Eagles Friday night!!
